Dermapen’s advanced vertical skin needling technology uses 12 to 24 needles that vertically pierce the skin with an automatic vibrating function. When moved across the skin’s surface it stimulates natural collagen reproduction, allowing fine channels to be created in the skin. The channels can carry up to 80% more natural nutrients, allowing for treatment delivery deep into the skin’s fibroblasts to feed the underlying cells found in the dermis and basal layer. This increased absorption of the active ingredients into the skin creates stimulated repair and faster resurfacing results.

Advanced vertical skin needling promotes scar-less healing and the regeneration of normal woven collagen, similar to fractional laser treatment but without the side effects or downtime. It’s also more effective than most microdermabrasion and chemical peels.

Is the treatment painful?

For minimum depth Dermapen is painless. Treatments over .5mm deep require a topical anesthesia cream applied for 15-40 minutes, depending on the needle depth being used.

Is there any downtime after treatments?

You may experience superficial redness for 12-48 hours after treatment resembling a sunburn. Most people are able to return to normal activities within 24 hours.

How many treatments will I need?

Benefits can be seen after just one treatment. It is recommended that 2-5 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are performed for maximum benefit. A greater number are needed for scar revision.
